This area is regarded as the administrative base of Nepal’s former Shah Dynasty king Drabya Shah. The place is accessible by road through Paundi – Nepal Danda. When the sky is clear, areas of Dudhpokhari, Tarkughat, Alkatar, Gorkha, Dhading, Kaski, Tanahu and Manang are visible from Rainaskot along with various mountain peaks. On Rainaskot’s hill top rests the Kalika Devi temple which are worshipped by the kings of the Shah Dynasty.
